Pawan Agarwal, CEO, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, talks to BW Businessworld in this exclusive interview. With a mandate to ensure food safety at all levels, FSSAI has been trying to implement the food safety and regulatory laws. However due to lack of resources and for some decisions taken in the past, the organisation has faced criticism by the media and people. Mr. Agarwal, the current CEO of FSSAI plans to make an overhaul and strengthen the organization. In this interview, he talks about FSSAI’s capacity building and institutional strengthening and also on the various issues that surround the organisation today.
