On Wednesday, the board of state-owned Power Grid Corporation approved an investment proposal worth around Rs 367 crore in electricity transmission projects.
In the meeting held on 22 November, 2023, the first project that got approval was an augmentation of transformation capacity by 1X1500 MVA (3rd), 765/400 KV ICT at Maheshwaram (PG) substation in Telangana at an estimated cost of Rs 142.69 crore, as reported by the media.
The commissioning of the project is set to happen within 21 months from the CTUIL (Central Transmission Utility) letter's intimation date of 10 July, 2023, which means it will be completed by 9 April, 2025.
Additionally, the board has given approval for the transmission system to evacuate power from the potential Renewable Energy (RE) Zone in the Khavda Area of Gujarat under phase IV (7GW)-Part E4.
The estimated cost for this project is Rs 224.41 crore, and it is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the CTUIL letter's intimation date on 10 July, 2023, concluding by 9 July 2025.
