Microsoft and Surface have introduced their newest Copilot+ PCs in India, which are currently available for pre-order beginning 11 July 2024. The new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro models claim to provide superior performance, extended battery life and cutting-edge AI capabilities. These PCs, powered by Snapdragon® X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus processors, promise to provide efficient processing and all-day use, as well as a powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI-driven workloads.
The Surface Pro 11th Edition is powered by Snapdragon X Plus CPUs and 16GB of RAM, with storage choices ranging from 256GB SSD in Platinum to 512GB SSD in both Platinum and Black. It has an optional OLED HDR display for rich images, which improves the viewing experience with strong contrast and true-to-life colours. Prices range from Rs 1,16,999 for the base model to Rs 2,37,999 for the top-tier configuration with a 1TB SSD, Snapdragon X Elite CPU and 32GB of RAM.
The Surface Laptop 7th Edition in 13.8" size is powered by Snapdragon X Plus processors and comes with 16GB of RAM. Storage choices range from 256GB SSD in Platinum to 1TB SSD in Black. It has comparable pricing levels, starting at Rs 1,16,999 and going up to Rs 2,07,999 for the top option with a Snapdragon X Elite chipset and 32GB RAM. The 15-inch Surface Laptop 7th Edition is powered by Snapdragon X Elite processors and comes in 256GB SSD, 512GB SSD, and 1TB SSD storage choices, with prices ranging from Rs 1,42,999 to Rs 1,83,999.
They include the Copilot key for rapid access to AI capabilities such as Microsoft Pluton Security and Windows Hello increased Sign-in, which provide increased device security from the outset. The Copilot+ PCs include over 45 trillion operations per second (TOPS) NPUs, which enable sophisticated AI features like Cocreator for intuitive picture editing and Live Captions for real-time voice translations.
When it comes to the camera, the Surface Pro has ultra-wide, quad-HD front-facing camera as well as a 10MP Ultra HD rear-facing autofocus camera capable of 4K video capture and editing. The Surface Laptop, on the other hand, comes with a full HD Surface Studio Camera that supports AI-powered Windows Studio Effects such as Automatic Framing, Portrait Blur and Creative Filters, as well as AI-enhanced sound via Omnisonic® Speakers, Dolby® Atmos® and Studio Mics for voice clarity.
Pre-orders for the devices are available from major retailers. The new Copilot+ PCs will become generally available on 24 July 2024.
