Madhya Pradesh earned Rs 3,200 crore in investment proposals during an interactive session in Bengaluru on 7-8 August, 2024, boosting its economic prospects significantly. Over 500 people attended the event, which was organised by Invest Madhya Pradesh and featured leading businessmen and investors from important sectors such as IT, textiles, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.
Among the significant suggestions, Google Cloud revealed plans to construct a startup cluster and Centre of Excellence in Madhya Pradesh, with the goal of increasing the state's skilled workforce. This effort is likely to establish the state as a key technological hub in central India.
In a related development, chipmaker NVIDIA recommended draughting a roadmap to transform Madhya Pradesh into the "Intelligence Capital of India." This ambitious plan demonstrates the state's ability to become a major participant in the country's AI and IT sectors.
More than 15 international diplomatic missions and prominent corporations such as Infosys, Cognisant and TCS also attended the event, bolstering Madhya Pradesh's position as a growing investment destination. The presence of these major players demonstrates the growing trust in the state's economic climate.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav expressed hope about the conclusion of the meetings, stating that the investment proposals might create around 7,000 new employments, delivering a significant boost to the local economy. "We had good discussions with these companies concerning Madhya Pradesh's information technology growth and their long-term objectives. "I am hopeful that the positive response we have received will lead to many IT companies establishing campuses in the state," Yadav added.
In a related event, it was reported that Google inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government in February 2024 to explore scalable AI solutions in agriculture and healthcare.
