Chinese consumer electronics and mobile communication company OPPO's India YouTube channel was terminated on Monday during the live stream launch of its much-anticipated flagship smartphones Reno 8 Pro, Reno 8, OPPO Pad Air tablet, and Truly Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, for allegedly violating the Google-owned online video sharing and social media platform's terms of service.
"This account has been terminated for violating YouTube's terms of service," the notification read.
An agency report claims YouTube took the action due to Oppo comparing its Reno 8 series with the Apple iPhone. However, experts suggest that a mere comparison is highly unlikely to trigger such a strict action.
OPPO has not commented on the development yet.
