Xiaomi has launched their much anticipated smartphone Mi MIX 2S in China today (27 March). Mi MIX 2S is a bezel-less smartphone without a notch at the top of the display and it is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor.
The handset features the vertically placed rear dual camera setup like the iPhone X but the handset doesn’t have a notch at top of the display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes in three RAM+storage configurations of- 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+256GB.
Mi MIX 2S Price
Mi MIX 2S price starts from RMB 3,299 for 6GB+64GB (roughly Rs 34,000), 6GB+128GB for RMB 3,599 (roughly Rs 37,200), and 8GB+256GB variant for RMB 3,999 (roughly Rs 41,300). It comes in ceramic white and black body shades.
Mi MIX 2S Specifications
Mi MIX 2S runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor coupled with Adreno 630GPU. It has 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. There is no MicroSD card slot and storage can’t be expanded.
Mi MIX 2S features a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160x1080) AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Mi MIX 2S sports a dual camera setup at the back which is a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The camera has 4-axis OIS, EIS, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, 2X optical zoom, AI scene recognition, bokeh mode and hardware-level noise reduction.
On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie snapper which enables the users to click AI powered portrait images.
DxO Mark has given the Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone a photo score of 101 points, which is highest for a smartphone. According to DxO Mark, “With an overall DxOMark score of 97, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S runs neck-and-neck with some high-end devices from more established manufacturers such as Apple, Google, and Samsung.“
Mi MIX 2S is backed by a 3,400mAh battery, which Xiaomi says can be charged in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Xiaomi has also added Qi wireless charging on the Mi MIX 2S. The company also launched their own affordable charging pad at RMB 99 (roughly Rs 1,020). The dual-SIM handset doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Also, the phone lacks water resistance which is common among most of the premium smartphones.
Connectivity options include- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and Location.
