World Bank President Ajay Banga, alongside Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth, introduced the PPP Beginners e-Course, a collaborative effort between the public and private sectors in infrastructure development. This initiative, a joint project of the Infrastructure Finance Secretariat and the World Bank under the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), aims to equip individuals with foundational knowledge about PPPs in India.
The PPP e-Course serves as a capacity-building programme focused on infrastructure, covering key elements across the lifecycle of PPP projects. It includes modules on PPP introduction, project identification, structuring, tendering, implementation and monitoring.
Recognising infrastructure's pivotal role in economic growth, especially in India, the government emphasises PPP models to meet development needs. Effective delivery of PPP infrastructure projects requires robust capacity building for efficient planning, execution, and maintenance.
This e-Course launch signifies a milestone in fostering public-private collaboration for infrastructure capacity-building. By imparting essential knowledge on PPPs, it aims to empower individuals to contribute to successful project implementation, thereby propelling the nation's economic growth and development through enhanced infrastructure.
