Arvind Uppal, President Asia-Pacific, Whirlpool Corporation announced resignation from his post on Thursday (25 May). For smooth transition, he will step down from the post of President with effect from 31 December 2017. However he will continue to be the Chairman of Whirlpool India Limited.
Commenting on his voluntary decision of retirement, he said, "This has been a very satisfying and fulfilling 12 years where I have experienced some of the toughest battles and made some of my best friends. I believe the business is now in very good hands and the time has come to pass on the baton."
Uppal joined Whirlpool India Limited in February 2005 as Managing Director and was elevated to the position of President Asia Pacific in 2010. Prior to Whirlpool he had a stint of 18 years with Nestle, where he held various senior management positions in Switzerland, China, Vietnam and India.

I do thank Arvind for leaving this great legacy and I am very pleased to have him continue serve as Chairman of our India business."
