European premium automaker Volkswagen's much awaited SUV Tiguan has finally come to India and has been priced attractively at Rs 27.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Volkswagen Tiguan is the first Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform based vehicle to be assembled in India. The MQB platform makes the vehicles lighter, more efficient, spacious, safe and comfortable, as claimed by the automaker.
This new offering from Volkswagen will compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and Chevrolet Trailblazer.
However, General Motors has recently announced the decision to withdraw Chevrolet from the Indian market by 31 December 2017. So, Tiguan, at present, has only two competitors.
For the financial year 2017, Toyota Fortuner sold 13,345 units, and Ford Endeavour sales stood at 6,472 units, according to data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Seeing the competition getting tough, Businessworld is giving you a detailed comparison of recently launched Volkswagen Tiguan with its rivals.
