The Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy said that Uttar Pradesh has immense investment opportunities and urged the investors to contribute immensely for the development of the state having ‘big ambitions’.
Reddy was speaking at a session on ‘Tourism: Leveraging a Cultural Heritage
for Modern & Progressive Uttar Pradesh’, organised on the opening day of the UP Global Investors Summit here in Lucknow on Friday.
Addressing the session, the minister said, “With this confidence that UP will be the best state for investment in the world in the coming days, I salute the commitment and efforts of the UP government and congratulate them for the success of the summit.”
The session saw a number of dignitaries sharing their views on the potential of investment in the tourism and hospitality sector in the state. Those who attended the session included UP Tourism minister Jaiveer Singh, MD UP State Tourism Development Corporation Mukesh Meshram, Chief Advisor to the CM Avanish Awasthi and others.
From the industry, participants included Vivek Shukla from Lalit Hospitality Group, G Asok Kumar Director General of National Mission for Clean Ganga, Santosh Kutty CEO Mahindra Holiday Resort, ML Srivastava Addl Chief Secretary Tourism Sikkim and Soniya Kriplani, CEO, the Unknown Planet.
The panelists opined that UP is evolving as a state and they need to leverage the spiritual tourism potential of the state. The state now boasts of good air connectivity which adds to its advantage, said the panelists.
On this occasion, the state tourism minister Jaiveer Singh assured that all the provisions, facilities, subsidies and incentives announced in the UP Tourism Policy 2022 will be fulfilled as the Yogi Adityanath led UP government is committed to promoting the state’s tourism potential.
“UP has set a target of attracting investment of Rs 10 lakh crore, however MoUs worth nearly Rs 33 lakh crore have been signed which testifies the improved law and order system, end of corruption and development taking place under the double-engine government led by PM Modi,” said Singh.
