TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Edition 2.0 Launched With Slipper Clutch; To Compete With Yamaha FZ25, Bajaj Pulsar NS 200
TVS Motor Company has launched the new generation TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 with the advanced ‘Anti-Reverse Torque (A-RT) Slipper Clutch’ technology.
Apart from the slipper clutch technology, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Edition 2.0 will also sport new racing-inspired graphics, and a fly-screen for enhanced aerodynamics.
Priced at Rs 95,185 (Carburetor), Rs 107,885 (EFI – Electronic Fuel Injection) and Rs 108,985 (Carburetor with ABS – Anti-lock Braking System), (all prices ex-showroom Delhi), the series will be available across the country.
The motorcycle continues to be powered by a 197.75cc single-cylinder motor that is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine develops 20.5PS (Carburetor) / 21PS (EFI) of power at 8500rpm and 18.1Nm of torque at 7000rpm.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Race Edition 2.0 will be available in Carburetor, EFI as well as Carburetor with ABS variant.
It comes with an option of five colours – Black, Grey, Red, White, and Matte Black.
The newly launched bike will compete with Yamaha FZ25, and Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.
Yamaha FZ25
Priced at Rs 119,335, the all-new FZ25 has been developed with a newly designed 249cc air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder engine.
The 74mm X 58mm bore and stroke, hemispherical combustion chamber and 9.8:1 compression ratio give this engine its maximum power output of 20.9PS @ 8,000rpm and maximum torque of 20Nm @ 6,000rpm.
Design and styling wise, LED lights are adopted for the headlight, tail light and brake light. The headlight is a three-light type: two for the low beam and a third one below that comes on with the other two for the high beam.
The 282mm diameter front disc is coupled with brake pads using a new material (2-pot brake caliper) for good initial bite. The brake lever is also newly designed for ease of grip. In the rear is a 220mm disc brake with a single-pot caliper.
It is available in three colour options - Knight Black, Ballistic Blue, and Warrior White.
Yamaha FZ25 measures 2015mm X 770mm X 1075mm, with 795mm of seat height, 1360mm of wheelbase, and 160mm of ground clearance.
Bajaj Pulsar NS 200
It comes both with and without ABS. The one without ABS comes at a price of Rs 98,714, and with ABS is available for Rs 110,714.
The Pulsar NS 200 features 199.5cc 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, liquid cooled, triple spark, BS-IV compliant DTS-I engine that churns out peak output of 23.5PS @ 9500rpm, and peak torque of 18.3Nm @ 8000rpm.
It is available in three colour options - Graphite Black, Wild Red, and Mirage White.
Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 measures 2017mm X 804mm X 1075mm, with 1363mm of wheelbase, and 169mm of ground clearance.
