A planned implosion of an obsolete unit (Model Repair Shop of 12- metre height) is set to be undertaken by Tat Steel.
This would be taken up at a non-operational Coke Oven facility in Jamshedpur on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
This move comes as part of the firm’s larger endeavour to introduce advanced environment-friendly new Coke Oven facility.
The said implosion exercise will be carried out by the firm’s contract partner - Edifice & Jet Demolition South Africa. This partner is globally renowned for having the requisite expertise and experience in such context.
Sarvesh Kumar, Chief, Corporate Communications, India & SEA, Tata Steel said, “All necessary approvals and NOCs have been secured from the relevant authorities. The Company has undertaken all measures to ensure safe and environment-friendly execution.”
The company is all set to carry out three more implosions of obsolete units which include a coal tower and two chimneys, at the Coke Oven facility.
