Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors is all geared up for the upcoming '14th Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018', which is going to be held at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida from February 9-14.
The company will reveal its new design language – IMPACT Design 2.0 in passenger vehicles at the Expo. With the new design language Tata Motors is set to redefine some segments, that reflects a sense of purpose coupled with strength and quality.
The company has not disclosed any further details about the design philosophy.
At present, for its passenger vehicles segment, Tata Motors is using the IMPACT design language. The aim of this design philosophy is to grab the attention of customers and to break the cycle of repetitive design.
Launched in 2016, the IMPACT design language have been created by Tata Motors’ teams based in UK, Turin and India.

Under the IMPACT design, the exterior of passenger vehicles features perfectly proportioned cabin to body ratio and hood to cabin relationship, front face framed by the humanity line, dynamism amplified by the slingshot line, and movement created by the diamond window.
The interior has layered cockpit design, driver focussed layout, and Intouch and connected to the world inside and outside the vehicle.
The Tiago hatchback was the first new product launched with this design language, followed by Tata Hexa SUV, Tata Tigor, and the recently introduced Tata Nexon.
The vehicles have created quite a ruckus for Tata Motors in Indian market with all of them getting positive feedback from consumers. The automaker has attributed its sales growth in the last few months to success Tiago, Hexa, Tigor and Nexon.
In December 2017, Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles sales performance was at 14,180 units as against 10,827 units, a growth of 31 per cent over last year. The company recorded the highest ever December sales for passenger vehicles since 2012 and the retail sales for this month was also the highest in last 6 years. The utility vehicle segment recorded a growth of 406 per cent over last year on the back of strong demand of the newly launched Nexon and Hexa.
Apart from IMPACT Design 2.0, Tata Motors, keeping in mind Indian government’s vision to build smart cities, will showcase 26 smart mobility solutions across its passenger and commercial vehicles at the Auto Expo.
The automaker will also give a sneak peek into the future with global premiere of some key passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle models.
