Wrapping up nearly a year long media review, part of Unilever’s policy to evaluate its agency partners periodically, the company has decided to continue with it agency of records in India. Consequently, PHD will manage Hindustan Unilever’s digital portfolio while Mindshare will continue the two-decade old relationship with the corporate major.
Hindustan Unilever is the largest advertiser in India, and a pioneer in pushing the envelope in digital marketing. Spreading its presence across social, mobile and other forms of newer media, HUL has been a recipient of global advertising accolades as well.
The development in India comes in the aftermath of a global review. As per a company statement, Unilever has retained its agencies in most of the key markets. In a prepared statement, Nick Emery, Global CEO Mindshare said, “Unilever is not only one of the world's largest advertisers, it is one of the most progressive. It is a great privilege and also a great reflection on our teams that we now work with Unilever in 60 markets across all continents.”
Unilever has Mindshare in 60 markets including Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, apart from India in Asia.
Similarly PHD has been appointed as Unilever's media agency in Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
