Bike maker Royal Enfield saw an increase of 19 per cent in domestic sales for the month of February.
The company sold 56,737 units in February 2017 as against 47,567 units in the same month last year.
From April 2016 to February, its sales grew at 32 per cent at 592,558 units in the domestic market as against 448,732 units in the 11-month period of the previous financial year.
However, comparative fall in growth figure was more evident in its exports in February 2017. The company shipped 1,702 bikes last month as against 1,589 bikes in February 2016, a growth of only 7 per cent.
In the 11-month period since April 2016, Royal Enfield's export grew by 71 per cent, shipping 13,819 bikes as against 8,102 units in the same 11 months last fiscal.
While sales of models which have engine capacity of upto 350cc increased by 25 per cent to 54,571 units last months, sales of models with engine capacity more than 350cc that fell 29 per cent to 3,868 units year-on-year.
In January 2017, Royal Enfield sold 58,133 units in the domestic market as against the 47,140 units in January 2016 and witnessed an impressive growth of 23 per cent. In the export market, it witnessed a 171 per cent growth in January at 1543 units.
