Xiaomi’s entry level smartphone Redmi 5A goes on sale in India today (29 March), at 12 pm. Redmi 5A will be available via Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home across India. The phone comes in three colours- rose gold, gold, and black.
Redmi 5A comes in two RAM+Storage variants of 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB which are priced at Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,999.
Earlier, Xiaomi was the 2GB variant of Redmi 5A at a discounted price of Rs 4,999. However the discount of Rs 1,000 has lapsed as offer was valid for first 5 million units only. According to Xiaomi, the number of units sold has exceeded 5 million units and the 2GB RAM variant is available at Rs 5,999.
Also, buyers can get Reliance Jio offer where they can avail cashback of Rs 2,200 and 4.5TB of data.

Redmi 5A Specifications
Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat and powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB RAM. It comes with 16GB/32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 5-inch HD (1280x720) display. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Redmi 5A is backed by a 3000mAh battery. Connectivity options are- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB ports, Infrared, 3.5mm audio-jack, GPS. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.35mm and weighs 137 grams.
