Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was born on 31 October, 1875 at Nadiad in Gujarat. He was a lawyer and also an activist. His role in Indian independence movement was remarkable and unforgotten. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will always be remembered for unifying over 550 princely states of India into one single state.
Initiatives like RUN FOR UNITY on his birthday and STATUE OF UNITY on the banks of Narmada is a historic step. It will help in building prosperity among the Indian people despite having different religion, and castes. Statue of Unity will be completed in 2018. It is being built at the Sadhu Island, just 3.2 km away from Sardar Sarovar Dam.
