Rajiv Rao who was working as the National Creative Director, Ogilvy India, has stepped down from his role.
Rao spearheaded the creative function at Ogilvy & Mather and has created some of the most successful and inspiring pieces of work including the inimitable Zoozoos and Pug campaigns for Vodafone. He is also the winner of several national and international awards.
Meanwhile, Rao will continue as Ogilvy India's National Creative Leader till Sonal Dabral takes over and a smooth transition is complete.
Speaking about the immense contribution of Rao to make Ogivy the top ranked creative agency, Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman & Creative Director, Ogilvy South Asia said, "It is not at all easy for me, as I inform you that Rajiv Rao moves on from Ogilvy India to become a filmmaker. It has been Rajiv's dream to make films for the last four years. I have nothing but a deep sense of gratitude to Rajiv, that he respected my request to stay on to help make a better and stronger Ogilvy. There are not too many in this business who make a sacrifice of this magnitude.
Rao joined Ogilvy in 1999 and has won several medals at Cannes, One Show, Clio, Ad fest, CA, Media Spikes and London International Awards for his Creative work. He work on Vodafone/Orange in India won 'Campaign of the year', 4 times in a row. The World Brand Congress also conferred Rao with the Creative Person of the year award in 2009.

I am sure Rajiv will be no less a film maker than the creative leader he has been. We will stay connected in more ways than one", added Pandey.
