As Rajasthan eagerly awaits the results of the assembly elections, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Rajasthan Election Watch have thoroughly looked into the money matters of 173 MLAs who are running for re-election. By examining the financial details they have declared in official documents, interesting insights have emerged about how much wealth these politicians have.
The key takeaway is that a significant 93 per cent of these MLAs have seen their wealth grow, ranging from a small 1 per cent increase to an incredible 19990 per cent. On the flip side, 7 per cent of them have experienced a decrease in their assets, going from -1 per cent to -57 per cent.

The average assets of these re-contesting MLAs, hailing from various political parties including independents, stood at Rs 7.10 Crores in the 2018 elections. Fast forward to the 2023 elections, and the average assets have surged to Rs 9.97 Crores.
Over the span of five years from 2018 to 2023, the re-contesting MLAs in the Rajasthan Assembly Election have witnessed an impressive average asset growth of Rs 2.86 Crores. This substantial financial evolution reflects a notable 40% increase in their wealth during this period.
The data underscores the dynamic economic landscape these political representatives have navigated over the past five years, showcasing a robust upward trajectory in their individual wealth. These figures provide valuable insights into the financial progress of re-contesting MLAs, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of their economic standing amidst the backdrop of the election.
In the realm of re-contesting MLAs with the most substantial asset increases, the top five figures exhibit staggering financial growth. Siddhi Kumari of the BJP, representing Bikaner East, leads the pack with a remarkable surge of Rs 97.61 Crores, marking a phenomenal 2092 per cent increase.
Following closely is Pramod Jain from the INC, hailing from Anta, whose assets witnessed a significant uptick of Rs 29.17 Crores, representing a substantial 107 per cent increase. Ramkesh, also from the INC and representing Gangapur, observed a noteworthy rise of Rs 23.68 Crores, showcasing a commendable 59 per cent increase.
Rajkumar Sharma, an INC representative from Nawalgarh, astoundingly recorded an asset growth of Rs 18.62 Crores, demonstrating an extraordinary 19990 per cent increase. Lastly, Chandrabhan Singh Chouhan, an independent candidate from Chittorgarh, experienced a substantial increase of Rs 17.94 Crores, reflecting an impressive 189 per cent growth in assets.
These notable financial trajectories underscore the diverse economic landscapes of re-contesting MLAs across different constituencies and political affiliations.
