Manohar Lal Khattar, who took an oath as a cabinet minister on Sunday has been named as the new Union Minister Of Power. In the Lok Sabha elections, BJP candidate Khattar won from Haryana’s Karnal seat by the margin of 2 lakh 30 thousand votes. In addition, Khattar was also named as Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs.
For the third term of the National Democratic Alliance(NDA), Narendra Modi was sworn in as India's prime minister on 9 June, marking his third term in office. In addition to Modi, thirty cabinet ministers, five ministers of state with independent responsibility, and thirty ministers of state took the oath of office.
In March, Khattar resigned as the chief minister of Haryana and then as a member of parliament representing the Karnal assembly constituency due to rumours that the BJP and JJP were splitting up in the state.
Modi's third term is anticipated to be centred on strengthening the DISCOMs (power distribution firms) financial standing, increasing their capacity for renewable energy, and giving priority to renewable energy sources including solar, wind, and green hydrogen.
