Just like OnePlus’ every new smartphone, the upcoming OnePlus 6 has been making a huge buzz on the internet. Pete Lau confirmed in CES 2018 that OnePlus’ next flagship smartphone (OnePlus 6) will be launched in the second quarter of 2018.
The design of OnePlus 6 could be very similar to Oppo’s recently launched R15 as both companies (also Vivo) have the same owner (BBK Electronics). Also, both Oppo’s R11 and OnePlus’ 5T shared same design cues in the past.
Since, Vivo unveiled the Vivo X21 smartphone with in-display fingerprint sensor, there have been rumours of OnePlus 6 also featuring the similar feature.
OnePlus 6 Specifications
According to various leaks, OnePlus 6 might have Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. It could possibly be available in 6GB RAM+128GB storage variant also. The operating system has been listed as Android 8.1 Oreo, obviously with Oxygen OS on top.
OnePlus 6 might inherit iPhone X’s notch at the top of the display which will house the front camera and other sensors. The leaks suggest that the upcoming OnePlus’ flagship will feature a 6.28-inch QHD+ (2280x1080) AMOLED display with a 19:9 aspect ratio instead of FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, which featured in the previous flagship (OnePlus 5T).
Some renders suggest that the dual camera will be placed vertically in top left corner while another leak suggests the same will be placed at the centre with fingerprint sensor placed below it. However it might get the same 20-megapixel+12-megapixel rear cameras like its predecessor. The same 20-megapixel selfie shooter could also be placed in the handset like the 5T.
Talking about the battery, the handset will be backed by a 3,450mAh battery which supports Dash charging. The body of the handset could potentially be made of glass.
OnePlus 6 Price
A few days ago, an image was leaked which showed a comparison of specs and price between the upcoming OnePlus 6 and other flagship handsets like iPhone X, Galaxy S9+, and Huawei P20.
The leaked image shows that OnePlus 6 might be priced at $749 which roughly translates into Rs 48,700, which means OnePlus 6 might be the company’s costliest handset ever. However, according to recent reports, OnePlus 6 will be priced around Rs 36,999.
The 128GB storage variant of OnePlus 5T costs Rs 37,999, the huge increase in price might be hard for some OnePlus fans.
