The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Tuesday (28 February) signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The MOU was signed by Angel Gurria, Secretary General, OECD and Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII.
This is a first of a kind MoU for the OECD with an industry body like CII. OECD is an intergovernmental organization, with a mission to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.
The OECD and CII propose to cooperate by various means, which will include joint studies or research; exchange of statistical data and other information; joint conferences, seminars, workshops and related issues papers and proceedings; and promotion and participation in each other’s events such as conferences and seminars.
Through this MoU, OECD and CII will work on areas of common interest such as economic, social, governance and environmental policy.
