Finnish tech giant Nokia launched their new smartphones Nokia 8 Sirocco and 7 Plus earlier this month in India. Both handsets were unveiled at MWC in Barcelona earlier this year, the handsets were also available for pre-orders from April 20.
Both Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus are now available for Indian buyers starting today (30 April). Both handsets are available through Nokia’s website and select mobile outlets across the country. Also, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 7 Plus are available through Flipkart and Amazon, respectively.
Nokia 8 Sirocco
Nokia 8 Sirocco has been priced at Rs 49,999 in India, it is available in black colour only.
Nokia 8 Sirocco runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-core processor coupled with 6GB RAM. It has 128GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB through a MicroSD card.
Nokia 8 Sirocco features a 5.5-inch IPS QHD (2560x1440) pOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 3D curved glass. It sports a 12-MP+13-MP dual rear camera, 12-MP is the wide-angle lens with f/1.75 aperture and 13-MP is the telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with display flash, and f/2.0 aperture.
According to the company, Nokia 8 Sirocco’s body is 2.5 times stronger than the 6000 Aluminum series of its predecessor. The glass body handset is IP67 rated water and dust resistant.
The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 3260mAh non-removable battery which also supports wireless charging. There is a fingerprint sensor below the rear camera with which the phone can be unlocked. Nokia 8 Sirocco does not have a 3.5mm audio-jack.
Nokia 8 Sirocco measures 140.93x 72.9 x 7.5mm. Its connectivity options are- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, and GPS/A-GPS.
Launch offers includes- Airtel pre-paid users will get 20GB free data per month for 6 months (on recharge of Rs 199 and Rs 349) & Airtel TV free till 31st December 2018 for Nokia 8 Sirocco. Similarly, Airtel post-paid users will get 20GB free data per month for 6 months (on Rs 399 and Rs 499 plans only) & Airtel TV free till 31st December 2018.
ICICI Bank credit & debit card holders will get 10 percent cashback on the purchase of the handset. Buyers will also get flat 25 percent instant discount on domestic hotel bookings through Makemytrip.
Nokia 7 Plus
Nokia 7 Plus has been priced at Rs 25,999 in India. The handset is available in two colours- black/copper and white/copper.
The new smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is the part of Google's Android One program which means the handset will get OS updates for next two years.
It is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. It has 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB through MicroSD card.
Nokia 7 Plus features 6-inch FHD+ (2160x1080) IPS LCD display with 18:9 ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It sports 12-MP+13-MP dual rear camera with 2x optical zoom, Zeiss optics and dual tone LED flash. On the front is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 3800mAh battery which the company claims will last for 2 days. There is a rear mounted fingerprint sensor with which the phone can be unlocked. Unlike the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus comes with a 3.5mm audio-jack.
Connectivity options are- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, and GPS/A-GPS. The metal body Nokia 7 Plus measures 158.3 x 75.6 x 9.5mm.
Launch offers includes- Airtel is offering cashback of Rs 2,000, Airtel customers will also get extended free subscription of Airtrl TV app till 31 December 2018.
