Nirmal K Minda, Chairman & Managing Director of Indian autoparts manufacturer Minda Industries Ltd, has been elected as the new President of Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), the apex industry body representing the interest of the country’s auto component Industry.
Ram Venkataramani has been elected as the Vice President, ACMA for the term 2017-18. The announcement was made at the 57th ACMA Annual Session during its Executive Committee meeting.
Announcing the new President, ACMA Director General, Vinnie Mehta, said, “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Nirmal K Minda as ACMA President. Minda is an industry veteran who brings in a wealth of knowledge with a strong background in automotive industry”.
Nirmal K Minda on becoming the New President for the ACMA said, “Reinventing and working towards innovative & sustainable mobility will be the theme for the Association’s work over the next few years. Our goal is to be a catalyst for the Indian automobile & component industry to be a preferred global manufacturing & Innovation base which will contribute to India’s economic development.”
Minda has a business experience of more than three decades in the auto components sector. He has served as Vice President, ACMA for 2016-17 and prior to this as the Chairman of ACMA, Northern Region.
ACMA has a membership of over 750 manufacturers and contributes to over 85 per cent of the auto component industry’s turnover in the organized segment.
