Motorola expanded its Moto X range by announcing two versions this year and now a third one has joined the league. The new Moto X Force officially made its way to India which according to the company is the world’s first handset with a shatterproof display.
Motorola has been bringing some interesting features with its smartphone lot and according to Amit Boni, Country Head Motorola Mobility, "The display on the Moto X Force can withstand drops, even on a hard surface. The technology behind it took about three years to finalise."
The display on the new Moto X Force offers a special tech called Moto Shatter Shield, which basically consists of five layers including:
- An aluminum core
- An AMOLED flexible display (can absorb shocks as well as bend)
- A dual Touch layer (in case one of the them fails)
- An interior lens
- An exterior lens
This means that the display on the smartphone doesn’t break even after falling face first on any surface. The company demonstrated this at the launch event and except for some scuffs on the metal frame, the display didn’t seem to a single crack. Motorola is also offering a four-year warranty on the display, so in case you do manage to break it, the company has it covered for you.
Other than the super-strong display which measures at 5.4-inches along with a 2K resolution (2560x1440) the handset features a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor with 3G of RAM and two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB. There is a microSD card slot as well to further expand the storage. It is 4G enabled and features a 21MP rear camera and 5MP front wide-angled camera. There is a massive 3,760mAH battery which also supports Quick-Charge technology and the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The handset will be water resistant and comes with Motorola’s various additions including the Moto Display, Voice Assist as well as approach to display, attentive display, twist for camera capture and double karate chop to open the flashlight.
The Moto X Force will be available in black and white variants and a special ballistic nylon back (Kevlar finish) as well. Prices start at Rs 49,999 for the 32GB version and Rs 53,999 for the 64GB variant and the handset will be available from 8th February from Amazon.in and Flipkart.
