Apple is extending its AI ambitions beyond the recently unveiled Apple Intelligence features for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant plans to incorporate these features into its Vision Pro headsets. This development aligns with Apple's strategy to make Apple Intelligence integral across its product lineup, although the Vision Pro remains a high-end device with a relatively limited user base.
Apple Intelligence includes a suite of features such as an upgraded Siri, proofreading tools, and custom emojis. However, integrating these capabilities into a mixed reality environment presents unique challenges. Apple must reimagine how these features will function within the Vision Pro's mixed reality interface, a task more complex than adapting them for traditional screens. Consequently, the rollout of Apple Intelligence on the Vision Pro is not expected this year.
In efforts to boost Vision Pro sales, Apple is updating its in-store demo process. Soon, potential buyers will be able to view their personal media on the headset, providing a more personalized experience. Additionally, Apple is transitioning from the Solo Loop headband to the Dual Loop design, enhancing comfort for users.
Adding to the news, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that Apple is planning to mass-produce AirPods equipped with infrared cameras by 2026.
