Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday in Bangalore that the location where Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon would be known as “Shivshakti.”
PM Modi also raised the slogan “Jai Vigyan Jai Anusandhan” in front of a massive crowd outside the HAL airport in Bangalore.
“I couldn't stop myself because I wasn't in the country. I decided to visit Bengaluru first and meet our scientists right after coming to India,” PM Modi said outside Bengaluru's HAL airport.
Modi spoke with ISRO scientists who were instrumental in the Chandrayaan-3 project during his visit to the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC). He received an update on the findings and development of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
He felt emotional while delivering a lecture to ISRO scientists. PM complimented ISRO scientists on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 and credited them with awakening a whole generation and leaving a deep mark on youthful minds.
“To commemorate the success of Chandrayaan-3, India will observe 23 August as National Space Day," the Prime Minister also declared.
