Lenovo has been focusing on the Indian market rather seriously as it announced a bunch of smartphones recently and today it unveiled two new products under its Yoga line-up including a home-entertainment based tablet and a slim convertible laptop.
The Yoga 900 convertible laptop is claimed to be the world’s thinnest Intel Core based laptop while the Yoga Tab Pro 3 is a premium tablet that comes with an inbuilt projector.
The Yoga 900 is now Lenovo’s top offering under the Yoga laptop series and will be configurable with Intel’s latest 6th gen Core i7 processor along with 8GB of RAM. It has a slim design and also carries Lenovo’s signature watchband hinge mechanism which is made from more than 800 woven individual pieces. The laptop offers flexibility with four usage modes; laptop, stand, tent, tablet, like most of today’s convertible laptops. There is a 13.2-inch QHD+ display which translates to a resolution of 3200x1800 pixels.
Other features include JBL Stereo Speakers with Dolby Audio Technology, up-to 512GB of SSD storage, Windows 10 and a claimed battery life 9-hours. Priced at Rs. 1,22,090, the laptop will be exclusively available from Croma outlets and Lenovo retail and online stores, which is an odd move as a majority of tech products are being sold on e-commerce platforms and are doing quite well.
Lenovo also launched the Yoga Tab 3 Pro, an update to the previous version which once again comes with a projector for users to enjoy videos and media on a larger format. It comes with a rotatable hinge and the projector has a 50 lumen output to project an image of up to 70-inches on any wall or ceiling. The specifications include a 10.1-inch QHD (2560x1600) display, 32GB internal memory which can be expanded further with a microSD card slot. The tablet is powered by an Intel Atom x5 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and also features a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera, four front-facing JBL speakers and with Dolby Atmos technology and is also water resistive. The display comes with AnyPen technology that can detect any conductive object as a pen, useful when you’re using your tablet to take notes or just sketching. It also packs a massive 10,200mAh battery that is said to offer an 18-hour backup along with an option to charge other devices as well. The Yoga Tab 3 Pro is priced at Rs. 39,990 and will be available on Flipkart.
Commenting on the launch, Bhaskar Choudhuri, Director, Marketing Lenovo India said, “We have disrupted the market with the Yoga brand, which is synonymous with consumer centric innovation. Over the years we have consistently invested, nurtured and built Yoga as a benchmark for mobility, versatility and personal entertainment. This ultra-thin and light device is packed with top of the line features making it the right choice for those who are on the move.”
