Kotak Mahindra Bank reported technical difficulties with its mobile banking app on 15 April, affecting some customers. In response to inquiries about potential server downtime, the bank assured customers on a post on X that their tech team was actively working to resolve the issues and anticipated a prompt resolution.
A spokesperson for the bank expressed regret over the situation, stating that their technical servers were experiencing intermittent slowness. They assured customers that efforts were underway to address the problem and restore services at the earliest. Despite their efforts, many customers encountered difficulties accessing the bank's services throughout the day.
According to a report by a media house, the bank's core server has been down since morning, leading to disruptions in various services. This outage impacted cash withdrawals from ATMs and bank branches, as well as online transactions, exacerbating frustrations among customers.
Netizens took to social media to vent their frustration over the technical issues. One customer shared their experience on X, expressing being stranded in a shop during a payment transaction due to the app malfunction. Similar issues were reported the previous day, highlighting the recurring nature of the problem.
Kotak Mahindra Bank assured customers that they were working diligently to resolve the technical issues and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
