On the upcoming general elections
It is difficult to say anything in the general elections, but Narendra Modi seems to be doing quite well.
Any concern, if any, in these elections
No concern in particular.
On the road ahead for India
The economy is doing well, and I am sure India will do quite well.
On the political slugfest in the elections
This happens all the time. Allegations and counter-allegations are part of the game. There is nothing spectacular about these things this election.
On corporate India’s prime concern this election
Different people have different concerns. There are no particular concerns about the elections per se. Corporates and businesses are interested that the economic policies are forward-looking and growth-oriented.
On whether India is witnessing an era of jobless growth
No. People might say that jobs are not being created. But I don’t buy that. My view is that jobs are being created at a decent pace.
On the state of the economy
India’s economy is doing fine, and it is already the fastest growing large economy.
On data fudging charges during Modi’s rule
I am not a statistician and I don’t have a view on the matter.
On the Manmohan years
The first term was quite successful, growth oriented. But there were problems in the second term.
On the Modi years
The Modi years, too, have been successful.
On the highs and lows of the Modi government
There have been many reforms. GST, for instance, was one such major reform. No lows in particular.
On whether stability is an issue
It could be an issue. It will be unfortunate if there is instability (post-elections).
