Seven Indian organisations including Infosys, Sarvam AI, and AI4Bharat (IIT Madras) have joined AI Alliance, an international community of technology developers, researchers and industry leaders who collaborate to advance safe, responsible AI rooted in open innovation.
This expansion is a significant development in the Alliance’s growth and points to India’s increasing influence within the global AI sector. Among other Indian organisations joining the Alliance are IT Jodhpur, KissanAI, People+AI and Wadhwani AI.
The addition of these Indian organisations, which represent a diverse range of sectors including technology, agriculture, and AI research, aligns with the Alliance’s mission to advance responsible innovation and support open science on a global scale.
Pratyush Kumar, Co-Founder, Sarvam AI said, “At Sarvam AI we believe in the value of open innovation in catalysing broad-based availability and adoption of AI technologies. We are excited to be part of the AI Alliance and look forward to working with various members to further the cause of open innovation.”
The AI Alliance was established in 2023 and is dedicated to promoting open, safe, and responsible AI through collaboration among technology developers, researchers, and industry leaders.
“The inclusion of Indian organisations in the AI Alliance underscores India’s growing influence in the global AI landscape. As we continue to push the boundaries for what is possible with AI collaboration across borders and industries is crucial,” said Shivnath Thukral, Vice President and Head of Public Policy, Meta India.
