The food and drink industry is grieving the untimely demise of one of the greatest Indian winemakers, Kapil Sekhri. Sekhri was 45. He passed away in Fortis Hospital after suffering a gigantic cardiac arrest.
Sekhri Co-founded Fratelli Wines after tossing his grape vineyard in Akluj zone of Maharashtra in 2006.
Tenacious to make wine normal on the Indian feasting table, he was continually enhancing, take for instance TILT - his transition to sell wine in a can, and working together with global names.
His endeavour, Fratelli Wine, is the primary Indo-Italian wine, which launched after the association among Alessio and Andrea Secci, Kapil and Gaurav Sekhri, and Ranjit and Arjun Mohite Patil.
Niti Aayog CEO Amitabha Kant said he was profoundly disheartened to catch wind of the disastrous downfall of Kapil Sekhri. "He was energetic about making a notorious Indian brand. He dispatched J'noon to India. An exceptional person who was continually grinning. Tear," he tweeted.
Biocon Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw retweeted Kant's tweet, communicating sympathies.
Creator and feature writer Vir Sanghvi said Sekhri was one of the most pleasant and most nice individuals. "His put his heart and soul into making a-list wine in India and with the phenomenal Sette he succeeded. My heart goes out to his family. And we all wine darlings have lost somebody extraordinary today," he included.
Incremation is at the electric crematorium at Lodhi.
