Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota Motor Corporation has launched India bound premium sedan – the all-new 2018 Toyota Yaris, in UAE.
Available in two trims, Toyota Yaris SE variant costs AED 59,900 (around Rs 10.60 lakh) and SE+ variant is available for AED 79,900 (around Rs 14.13 lakh).
In India, bookings for Yaris will begin in the month of April, and the launch will happen by mid-2018. It was first unveiled for the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2018 on February 7.
In UAE, Toyota Yaris sedan is available in eight different exterior colour options – Super White, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica Metallic, Quartz Brown Metallic, and Dark Blue Mica Metallic.
Yaris sports 1.5L 4-cylinder in-line, 16-valve DOHC, dual VVT-i engine that churns out 78kW of power output at 6000rpm, and 140Nm of torque at 4200rpm. It is mated to a multi-drive 7S transmission.
The five seater sedan measures 4425mm X 1730mm X 1475mm, with a fuel tank capacity of 42 litres.
Toyota Yaris has a host of safety features – anti-lock braking system, brake assist, cruise control, dual front airbags, electronic brake-force distribution, rear window defogger, tyre pressure warning system, vehicle stability control, child restraint system, rear fog lamps, and rear parking sensors.
Toyota Yaris SE+ variant also features day time running lights, and front fog lamps.
In India, Toyota Yaris sedan will compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and is likely to be priced somewhere around Rs 8 lakh – Rs 13 lakh.
