The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday said that with the administration of 80,98,716 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 124.10 crore (1,24,10,86,850) through 1,28,94,826 sessions.
The Ministry said that a total of 10,207 patients recovered in the last 24 hours that has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,40,28,506. According to the ministry, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.36 per cent.
A total of 8,954 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. India’s active caseload Is less than a lakh after 547 days; presently stands at 99,023. Active cases constitute 0.29 per cent of the country's total positive cases, which is the lowest since March 2020.
"The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 11,08,467 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over64.24 crore (64,24,12,315) cumulative tests," according to the ministry.
Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate is at 0.84 per cent which is less than 1 per cent for the last 17 days now. The daily positivity rate is at 0.81 per cent. The daily positivity is below 2 per cent for the last 58 days and below 3 per cent for 93 consecutive days now.
