The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Wednesday said that amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, it has administered 52,69,137 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours.
The ministry said that India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 109.63 crore (1,09,63,59,208). This has been achieved through 1,11,61,268 sessions.
A total of 11,961 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, which has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,37,87,047, since the beginning of the pandemic.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.25 per cent. Meanwhile, a total of 11,466 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, informed the Health Ministry.
"The active caseload is presently at 1,39,683 is lowest in 264 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.41 per cent of the country's total positive cases, which is lowest since March 2020," the ministry said.
The ministry also said that the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. In the last 24 hours, a total of 12,78,728 tests were conducted. India has so far conducted over 61.85 crore (61,85,02,659) cumulative tests.
Meanwhile, the weekly positivity rate is at 1.20 per cent which remained less than 2 per cent for the last 47 days now. The daily positivity rate is at 0.90 per cent which remained below 2 per cent for the last 37 days and below 3 per cent for 72 consecutive days now, the ministry said.
