The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday has said that the COVID-19 vaccination coverage surpassed the cumulative figure of 73Cr (73,05,89,688) as per provisional reports till 7 AM today.
The centre has administered a total of 65,27,175 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, informed the Health Ministry in a press release.
Meanwhile, a total of 32,198 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours which took the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,23,74,497. Talking about the recovery rate in the entire country, It stands at 97.49 per cent, it said.
"Sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs continue the trend of less than 50,000 Daily New Cases that are being reported for 76 consecutive days now," the ministry added in a statement.
A total of 33,376 fresh cases were reported in the last 24 hours which has taken the Active Caseload to 3,91,516. Active cases presently constitute 1.18 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases.
"The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. The last 24 hours saw a total of 15,92,135 tests being conducted. India has so far conducted over 54.01 Cr (54,01,96,989) cumulative tests," the ministry added.
"The testing capacity has been enhanced across the country, Weekly Positivity Rate at 2.26 per cent remains less than 3 per cent for the last 78 days now. The Daily Positivity rate was reported to be2.10%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3 per cent for the last 12 days and below 5 per cent for 96 consecutive days now", it said.
