The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) through its Board of Studies (Academic) is organising a National Education Summit on Commerce & Accountancy (NES-CA) on 22 & 23 January 2024 in New Delhi. The NES-CA 2024 aims to synergise University Education with Professional Accountancy Education through an inclusive approach.
While addressing the media, CA. Aniket S. Talati, President, ICAI; CA Vishal Doshi, Chairman, Board of Studies (Academic), ICAI, CA Dayaniwas Sharma, Vice-Chairman, Board of Studies (Academic), ICAI and other delegates were also present in the inaugural session of NES-CA, 2024, summit envisioned forming the parameters and provisions to execute the quality deliverance of finance and accounting education in India.
CA Talati also mentioned that ICAI is planning to promote financial, tax and investment literacy among common people irrespective of their streams.
He also told the media that the institute is also working in the direction of pushing educational institutions to rejuvenate the curriculum and striving to provide physical infrastructure.
Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava who was also the Chief Guest at the event, while addressing the inaugural session appreciated the institute as one of the few institutions to maintain credibility and respect throughout. He stated that the thinking process and mindset of chartered accountants are outstanding and can take the nation towards “Viksit Bharat”.
In terms of efficient usage of technology and recent changes in the CA exam, four out of all the papers that took place in the CA exam are assessed through technical processes while the 3 years of articles have been reduced to 2 years.
In order to promote commerce education, ICAI signed 11 MoUs with the Universities and other institutions participating in the summit.
