The Start menu from Windows 10 has been simplified further in Windows 11. However, live tiles like window 10 will not be available anymore in Windows 11. According to the reports, there will be quick restart and shutdown buttons. Apart from this, there will be pinned apps, recent files in the start menu.
Moreover, you will be able to keep the taskbar on the left side unlike Windows 10. Also, changes have also been made to Windows 11 File Explorer and icons.
Additionally, Windows 11 comes with new widgets and transition effects. Interestingly, Windows 11 will get the new boot animation with an updated startup sound.
According to XDA Developers, There will also be a big change in Windows Search. Users will now be able to filter by apps, documents, and settings. New snap controls have been provided in Windows 11 which can be accessed through the Maximize button.

It is clear from many reports that Windows 10 users will get the new version as a free upgrade, although it is not clear whether it will be immediately available for older generation operating systems. Moreover, reports also suggest that Windows 11 update will be available for free to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. Notably, Windows 8 users will have to first upgrade to Windows 8.1, only after that Windows 11 update will be available.
According to the data of Statcounter, Windows 7 is the most used operating system in the world after Windows 10. The market share of Windows 7 is 15.52 per cent, while that of Windows 8.1 is 3.44 per cent and for Windows 8, it is 1.27 per cent.
