Honda Cars India said it will voluntarily replace driver-side airbag inflators in previous generation models of City, Jazz and Civic manufactured between February 2012 and June 2013 as part of its preventive global recall campaign concerning defective air bag inflators supplied by Takata Corporation.
Around 50,000 Honda City cars which were manufactured from January 2012 to June 2013 are under the scanner.
Similarly, over 7,000 Honda Jazz (from February 2012 to February 2013) and around 600 Honda Civic (January 2012 to August 2012) will be recalled for replacement.
"The replacement would be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner, starting from February 20, 2016, and the company will communicate with customers directly," Honda Cars India said in a statement.
