Chief Minister Vijay Rupani held discussions with Tsinghshan Group, world’s biggest stainless steel producer which has entered into a joint venture with Sunrise Group for setting up a stainless steel (cold and hot rolling) project in Mundra. The project would have a total investment of $800 million (Rs 5,500 crore) and is expected to create 8,000 jobs.
Tsinghshan Group will also sign a MoU during the summit.
MRF would be establishing its greenfield manufacturing plant (most likely in Bharuch) in Gujarat. The company is expected to invest around Rs 4,000 crore for the proposed plant, which will initially have a production capacity of one million tires per month.
MRF signed an MoU with Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) for the same.
A MoU was also signed between Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Gujarat Industries and Mines Department (GIMD), Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and Toyota Tsusho India Private Limited (TTIPL) to further enhance Indo-Japan ties.
The University of Wollongong will be signing an education MoU with Gujarat Technological University. Chief Minister also highlighted some of the focus areas for collaboration between the two regions that include Skill Development, Agriculture and Smart cities.
Amazon signed a MoU with Government of Gujarat for tribal development.
MoU signed between Reliance Sibur Elastomers Pvt Ltd (a joint venture company of Reliance Industries Ltd and Sibur Holding, Russia) and Indextb. Through this MoU Reliance Sibur Elastomers Pvt Ltd will establish a Halo Butyl Rubber Project at Jamnagar with proposed investment of $180 million (Rs 1,200 crore approximately).
MoU between Rajoo Engineers and Department of Science & Technology. Under the MoU, Rajoo Engineers will be setting up a Biotechnology park in Rajkot to produce biopolymers with an investment intention of Rs 900 crore approximately).
A MoU between Airbus France and Dholera Industrial City Development Limited (DICDL), GoG, for Collaborating on setting up of Aerospace and defence cluster. This MoU will help DICDL in establishing an Aerospace and Defence manufacturing ecosystem in Dholera region. This strategic partnership will soon ensure establishment of related ancillary industries in this area which will give a fillip to Dholera SIR.
MoU signed with Adani cementation limited, Vadraj Cement Ltd, Utra Tech cement Ltd, Shree cement ltd, RSPL Ltd. and Gulf mining materials company and Astha Infra lives pvt. Ltd. with proposed employment for over 4,400 persons. All these MoUs are above Rs 1,000 crore.
Six MoUs were signed by GNFC with M/s Alfanar Energy, Saudi Arabia for 40 MW solar plant, with M/s Connect Power, Saudi Arabia for solar PV module plant and LED lighting plant, with M/s Connel chemical, China for Methylene Diphenyl Di-isocynate( MDI ) plant, with Ecophos Belgium for Di calcium phosphate plant and with M/s NEC India Pvt ltd and DNJ Corporation for IT enabled services.
These MoUs represents estimated investment of Rs 7,020 crore giving direct employment to 3,000 people and scheduled for implementation in next 2 years.
