Government Appoints Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran As Joint Secretary In Ministry of Power

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Monday approved the appointment/premature repatriations of officers at Joint Secretary or equivalent level with pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix. A total of 44 officials were on the list.
Shri Raghuraj Madhav Rajendran, IAS (MP:2004) has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power for an overall tenure of five years upto 30/11/2022 from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, which is further extendable for additional two years on availability of cadre clearance, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He is a 2004, Madhya Pradesh Cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service. He hails from Kerala and is proficient in Malayalam, Hindi and English. He has done his B.Tech in Electronics from the National Institute of Technology, Calicut (formerly Regional Engineering College, Calicut). As a member of the Indian Administrative Service, he has wide experience in areas of Energy, Cabinet Affairs, Personnel and General Administration, Social Justice and Empowerment, Employment and Labour issues, Panchayati Raj and Local Self Government. Before this appointment he was serving as Director in the Prime Minister’s Office. Since December, 2017 he is on deputation to the Government of India.
He participated in the Social Policy and Governance Training Programme conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for a week in 2015-16 as well as the Inner Engineering Leadership Programme by the Isha (Foundation) Yoga Centre in 2016-17 as a part of his in-service training.
