Prof Dewakar Goel, executive director of the Airports Authority of India, has taken over as director of the Indian Aviation Academy.
The Indian Aviation Academy is a joint venture of Airports Authority of India(AAI), Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security(BCAS) under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
His took up the new position 20 December.
It is the premier training and research institute of the country having affiliation with international bodies like International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO), Canada, Airports Council International(ACI), International Air Transport Association (IATA),) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Goel is a science and law graduate with a master's in business administration. He acquired post-graduate diplomas in specialized field of labour laws from the Indian Institute, Training and Development from ISTD and personnel management and industrial relations.
He also acquired India-ICAO Fellowship and Ph.D. in management under Dr Sadhan Das Gupta of Calcutta University. He has authored 12 books on management, law and various other topics.
Goel is well known visiting faculty of LBS, National Business Administration, Mussorie, Indian Institute of Public Administration(IIPA), IIMs and IITs.
He is also the advisory board member of prestigious universities. Goel is HR consultant of ICAO, Montreal, Canada, and Human Performance Technologist with IATA, Geneva, Switzerland.
Goel is a doctoral research examiner and Ph.D. guide also. The Indian Aviation Academy is looking for dynamic steps to be taken by the new director especially when they are going to shift to the new world class campus situated at Vasant Kunj.
