Diversified group GMR on Friday (21 October) said it has appointed Aman Kapoor as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Airport Land Development.
Prior to GMR, Kapoor was the Commercial CEO with Emaar MGF. He also worked with Mckinsey & Co as a Senior Advisor. Kapoor has an experience of over 20 years of working across geographies including India and the US.
He received his MBA from Fore School of Management.
The Indian infrastructure major, with business interests in airport, energy and infrastructure, has 15 power generation projects and nine operating road projects.
In August, GMR Infrastructure won the bid to build Goa’s second airport, expected to cost Rs 3,000 crore, gaining an opportunity to tap tourist traffic to the north of the state.
It was a closely contested process — five bidders had prequalified — with the Airports Authority of India emerging second highest bidder followed by a consortium of Essel Infra-Incheon.
GMR Group owns and operates India's Delhi Airport which is presently ranked as World’s No 1 airport in its passenger category. It has also built Hyderabad airport which has been consistently ranked among World’s top three airports in its category over the last 7 years.
GMR Infrastructure in partnership with Megawide Construction Corporation is also developing Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in Philippines.
