BW Businessworld held an exclusive dialogue, BW Dialogue, with the best-selling author & legendary leadership expert, Robin Sharma, in the national capital where he shared the four interior empires – mindset, heartset, healthset & soulset – for personal growth of an individual.
“Mindset is your psychology and you can have a great psychology and strong beliefs. But if you have a toxic heart you're going to sabotage yourself. Heartset is your emotionality and so if you have a stone psychology, when you're full of sadness, pain, anger, you haven't forgiven people, you're not going to be creative for not getting world-class,” said Robin Sharma.
He added, “Healthset is understanding that energy is even more valuable than intelligence. Your healthset is about your vitality, energy protection and living a long life so you can serve and do great things. And then soulset is connecting to your higher nature and noble virtues every morning while the rest of the world is asleep."
The 5AM Club, Robin Sharma’s recent book, talks about the morning routine that helps an individual in maximizing their productivity, activate their best health and bulletproof their serenity in this age.
Sharma also said that one hour before sleeping, an individual should be tech-free in order to get a high-quality sleep because people are addicted to technology which creates a divide for them from their family, friends, and environment.
Furthermore, Dr. Batra asks him how does he sets his goals and if he thinks about his legacy. Sharma believes that it is important to plan a future in order to get to that goal yet his belief is to live in the present.
“I do spend a lot of time writing in my journal about my future because I want to express that if you have a blueprint for the future, you can walk in that future. And there's an emerging science of epigenetics that says we're on our genetics we can actually operate leaving down-regulated genes by the way we think," said Sharma.
He added, “I actually write a lot about legacy now, I want to be remembered. I don't spend much time doing that anymore. I want to live in the moment because I think sometimes legacy is just not regal. I want to do great work out, I want to help people right now, I want to make a difference right now, and I want to model possibility right now. Today is all we have, tomorrow is just an illusion."
