The Sixteenth Finance Commission is seeking to hire 12 young professionals (YPs) or consultants on a contractual basis to deliver high-quality services throughout its term. The commission is offering a monthly salary ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,75,000 for these YPs, who will be expected to work full-time during their tenure. Candidates must hold a master's degree in economics, MBA or be qualified chartered accountants.
By 31 October 2025, the commission aims to finalise its recommendations concerning the central tax devolution formula and grants-in-aid to states for the upcoming five-year period starting from 1 April 2026.
