Italian carmaker Ferrari on Wednesday (February 17) launched its 488 GTB in India, making its second entry and the first product this year.
The new Ferrari 488 GTB has been priced at Rs 3.88 crore for the Indian market.
"We are delighted to launch the Ferrari 488 GTB in New Delhi. We have many loyal Ferrari owners and fans in Northern India and this new launch allows us to bring them a fantastic new model in our market. We are confident that we will continue to create more value for our ever-increasing customer base with an unprecedented buying experience," said Yadur Kapur, director of Select Cars.
The 488 in the car's moniker indicates the engine’s unitary displacement, while the GTB stands for Gran Turismo Berlinetta, a reference to its deep roots in Ferrari history.
The front of 488 GTB is characterised by the dual grille opening, allowing air into the two radiators and a double front spoiler.
The new Ferrari 488GTB is powered with a 3.9L, V8, turbo-charged, petrol engine giving maximum power output of 660bhp and maximum torque of 760Nm and seven-speed F1 dual clutch transmission.
It comes with a wheelbase of 2650mm and is 4568mm in length, 1952mm in width and 1213mm in height with a fuel capacity of 78 litres.
The carmaker has launched its first car California T in India during November last year.
On not taking part in the recent Auto Expo 2016 in Greater Noida, Yadur said the company did not want to spoil cars there as people who come to the show are generally not customers and they tend to do damage to the products.
"Our customers are too limited and we focus on a small (affluent) segment only," he said.
