Facebook had set up Groups to make it easy for people to build a space for important groups of people in their life and bring like-minded people together to learn, support or rally around a common bond or interest. Members can comment and like posts, so it’s easy to discuss anything. Today, more than 1 billion people use Facebook Groups every month. This growth comes because people use Groups in many different ways. Last year, people in tens of millions of Facebook Groups left more than 100 billion comments in Groups and there were more than 250 billion likes on Group posts. In India, over 80 million people use Groups each month to stay in touch with family, collaborate on projects, plan trips and offer support to friends.
Over the past year Facebook has invested significantly on this product. It recently introduced Groups Discover, a new feature where users can browse groups by category and get recommendations based on friends, location and interests. They can discover offers in 25 different categories such as parenting, sports, food, buy & sell, networking, animals & pets, hobby & leisure, support & comfort and travel. Each topic page highlights the top suggested Groups based on popularity and who users may already know as a member. Additionally, Facebook has been working to tweak the Groups experience to make it easier for people to do the things in Groups that they want.

Rising Creativity Quotient Adobe’s 2016 Creative Pulse survey of more than 1,700 creatives across Asia Pacific discovered that 98 per cent creative professionals in India believe that creativity and design thinking are more important to businesses in the country. The report also found that Indian creatives have a higher desire to learn and feel motivated to finding new solutions to design led challenges. Findings from the survey highlight that creatives in India are today driving a bigger impact within their organisations.

Slow ReactionAccording to a new study by Quintly, use of Reactions on Facebook has almost doubled among users, but they still only account for less than 6 per cent of all Facebook interactions. Almost 77 per cent of all interactions on Facebook are likes and, interestingly, there are almost 5 per cent more shares than comments on the site. Users are adopting Reactions, but the transition seems to be slow.
Holiday Trends An infographic from Taykey on 2016 holiday marketing trends, shows nearly 70 per cent of all in-store purchases will be directly influenced by online research. Last year, 50 per cent of consumers used social recommendations during the holiday season.
