Ericsson and Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) launched a Center of Excellence (CoE) at Delhi Skill & Entrepreneurship University (DSEU). The centre will train students on 5G and emerging technologies along with job placements post the completion of the selected module by the student.

The Centre of Excellence will train 300 students in the first phase of the programme, The coming of 5G networks in India, and the rapid adoption of smartphones and IoT devices in the country created the demand for new skill requirements in the telecom sector.
This collaborated initiative seeks at addressing this gap by providing world-class training and skill development to students and providing career opportunities in the telecom sector.
The modules being offered to students include training to be a 5G network engineer, technical training for handheld devices and for IOT Devices/Systems as well as line assembly of telecom products. The industry-approved training modules include theory lessons and hands-on practical training for the students in the Skill Labs set up in the CoE.
Arvind Bali, the CEO, said, "Telecom Sector Skill Council marked the occasion stating “TSSC is on a mission to enhance the baseline skills for telecom professionals and aspirants across India. With the invaluable support of Ericsson, we have been able to establish a first-of-its-kind Centre of Excellence for telecom in Delhi towards fulfilling this objective."
The launch event had many students showcasing their talent and knowledge about machines and a new age of data. One of the pair of a student of universities demonstrated IoT embedded kit that is used to collect the data and contact users.
With this new initiative of TSSC and Ericsson, even the students from not so well to do families are getting assistance and opportunity to learn and grow.
Ruchika Batra, Vice President, Marketing & Communications, Ericsson India also emphasised how their programme stands out from any government education and employment programmes as along with training, degree they are also providing employment to these students which are the basic need of them.
Batra also appreciated the passion of students to learn new skills and technology and told the telecom market is dynamic where multiple technologies co-exist like 4G is being operated with 5G which eventually asks for more competency, and Ericsson with TSSC working in the same direction.
Ericsson’s technology is critical to the digital transformation of society and forms the backbone of sustainable development, but to meet global challenges and realize opportunities across countries, technology needs to be scaled and Ericsson’s experience in driving eco-systems within and across industries, and in society is critical to achieve this.
