Whether it is domestic entrepreneurs or those from countries like Canada, Uttar Pradesh has now become a hub for all looking to expand their businesses. Many of them have participated in the UP Global Investors Summit either as exhibitors or as partners and opined that UP now offers the most favourable conditions to promote ‘Make In India’.
Speaking to Businessworld on the opening day of the three day summit that was inaugurated by the PM Narendra Modi, MD and Founder of Sparsh CCTV Sanjeev Sehgal said, “UP is now offering a great opportunity to not just encourage Make In India, but also Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. We have been manufacturing CCTV cameras in India since the last two decades and we wanted to capture the entire market ahead of China, who had the monopoly in this market so far. The world is now looking at new manufacturing hubs and we already have a manufacturing unit in Noida. We plan to set up another unit in UP that will not only create more employment opportunities in UP, but also help in overcoming China’s monopoly in this sector.”
It is not only domestic investors who are now finding UP to be an ideal ground. Canada too has signed a number of MoUs with UP, amounting to over Rs 2000 crore. The country has even set up an Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce in UP to facilitate the investors from Canada who are investing in UP.
Talking to Businessworld, the State Head of Indo Canada Chambre De Commerce Mukesh Singh said that investors now feel that they themselves and their money is now safe in UP. “The policies of the Yogi Adityanath led UP government and the law and order improvement has made investors not just from India, but also countries like Canada put their trust in UP. The investor now knows that his investment is safe in the state and he also has an opportunity to expand. Looking at these factors, several companies from Canada have signed MoUs with UP.”
Singh further added that the chamber opened an office in UP to ensure that all these MoUs are implemented in time and smoothly. “We are sure that with these collaborations, Canada will contribute immensely to UP’s growth,” said Singh.
