Designs Need To Be Sustainable, Functional, And Aesthetic: Future Of Design Jury
A high profile eminent jury gathered on Sunday (6th October) to acknowledge, reward and honour the best designs in the industry in the six categories of Craft, Visual, Space, Product, Lifestyle and technology.
A good design is an expression of the artist, which not just relates to an eye pleasing design but convenience to the end user. Good design is needed for a better future, and this forms the basis of the BW Future of Design Summit & Awards 2019. The awards recognize and felicitate the best prototypes and finished designs by designers, architects, innovators and businesses. This exclusive event will cater to products from across industries that are touching human lives and making them future ready.
The eminent jury comprised leaders of the highest quality including Hafeez Contractor (Architect), Pradyumna Vyas (Board member, WDO), Dr. Resul Pookutty (sound designer), Josy Paul (Chairman, BBDO), along with Revathy Kant (CDO, Titan) and Pratap Bose(Automobile Designer, Tata Motors) who were present remotely.
The jury had a field day looking at designs ranging from interior and landscape design; consumer durables; branding, gadgets, textile, jewellery, and crafts nominating the best of designs while keeping sustainability in mind which a vital topic discussed.
The event will feature immersive experiences and conversations that will help designers get valuable real time feedback from the audience, and also help brands think through the importance of cutting-edge design in product development. Leaders from the fields of Design, Cinema, Fashion and Commerce will lead these conversations.
Some of the speakers at the event are sound designer Resul Pookutty, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, Josy Paul (Chairman, BBDO), interior designer Gauri Khan, Abhishek Ganguly (MD, PUMA), Ashiesh Shah (Architect & Interior designer), and Pratap Bose(Automobile Designer, Tata Motors) among others.
The winners will be announced at the second edition of Future of Design Summit & Awards which will take place on October 17, 2019 at Four Seasons, Worli, Mumbai. This property is an initiative of BW Businessworld, a 39-year old leading Indian business magazine.
